Bike on Pre-Order: KOGA Worldtraveller S Discbrake

Here it is, here is my:

KOGA Worldtraveller Signature - Discbrake

Picture above is of my bike after delivery. Below is a short blog leading up to the picture above.

Delivery date is 14 July, which is 8 weeks from paying deposit to delivery. Worth noting for anyone hoping to get one in a short time. 8 weeks is far longer than I thought, but at the same time, as I am not setting out until August 1, I will still have a couple of weeks to get my balance with it.

I have just today ordered the Ortlieb Rack-Pack 49ltr, as a place to put the tent and sleeping bag, and just keep things tidy. This whole setup will be my home for a few years after all.

I'm made up with the bike and gear, and just can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it :)

Update June 22

A call today, let's me know my KOGA bike will be ready for me to pick up on June 29, 2 weeks earlier than expected. So it actually took 6 weeks for the bike to arrive from order and not 8 weeks, which is good news. It will allow me to get used to it for a few weeks before I set off, and I can start filling the panniers with the items I have piled up and don't need until I go.

Everything else is moving along at a pretty quick pace, and in a blink of an eye I will be cycling out.

June 29

My KOGA Worldtraveller S is here, and I love it. Drove 90 miles each way to get it today through roadworks and rain. I have to admit to being a bit upset at one point, as when I asked where the USB socket was, I was told I haven't got one, things got lost between us in translation.

It was one of the things most important to me. But, been back to the shop and had the latest version of Igaro D1 V5 USB adaptor with 2 ports. Bit of a tied on sort of thing, but as long as it does the job, I will be happy. Cost £160 fitted, so not cheap, but could get me out of a scrape or two, which will have been worth the investment.
