Which Direction, and Does This Map Need Tweaking?
Starting from the UK, which direction would be the best direction to cycle, given winds at ground level?
There is much talk about which direction would best provide the wind to your back for the majority of the time. Some swear by East to West, others West to East. While others say it matters not due to the winds at ground level actually moving from the North or the South.
Not being lazy, but if it turns out that by heading West, you would be fighting against the wind most of the time, then it just makes more sense to enjoy more of your travels by heading East. So which is it?
All input welcome
